Yes Professor Brian Cox, it IS actually quite depressing, I agree! :-)
As we all realise, the gently glowing log fire that we huddle round for warmth & comfort, (Well, I did in France over Xmas!)gradually dies down, leaving a pitch black cold room in its wake.
Our sun, source of all life & warmth (Perhaps not quite this winter lol!), will eventually flare up & die down, its embers glowing ever more faintly...not that any of us or indeed ANYONE will be around to witness this phenomenon! Yes, eventually it is 'obvious' that the whole universe will become Red & White Dwarves (dwarfs?! My spelling doesn't match the topic!)& black holes.
All light will eventually become totally extinct, & the happy Nirvana will be complete nothingness forever.....
(Those Buddhists must have got it right!! How did they know without Professor Cox & modern telescopes?)
This cheery news gripped me all Sunday evening, in fact I'm still thinking about it!
Professor Brian Cox (He's quite good looking...oh dear, I shouldn't notice at my age lol!) also discussed Entrophy in great detail.
(I'm sure the physicists among you know all about this, if not, go onto BBC i-Player & watch the programme!)
yes, Entrophy is a fact, I'm fast approaching my dotage & its downhill all the way!
These grim facts & Professor Cox's cheery toothy smile haunted me all night long, as I tossed & turned the endless dark hours away....
Thankfully the sun rose & I staggered along to the pool for my swim.
Oh Joy!! The stiffness wore off & I managed to avoid the worst of the tidal waves this time.
Today I've been adding to my tree of Life.
My poor ancestors are of course, all dead & decaying because of Time's relentless 'forward facing arrow...'
I did manage to find a dozen more individuals from Kent & pinned them down nicely!
Jacqui, my distant cousin & fellow addict and I spent a great day sheltering from the sun's relentless light, comparing our genetic material....
It will 'all be the same in a hundred years' ( I suppose that should actually be in 1.00000000000000000000000000000000000 years, so I suppose it doesn't matter, but we both find our search for identity fascinating.
Will the search ever truly be over?
